SANTA CLARA, Calif., (Oct. 27, 2009) — Fighting game fans wait no longer as NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., announced today that TEKKEN® 6 is now available at retailers nationwide for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The latest installment of the top-selling video game series is packed with edge-of-your-seat action, new online and offline gameplay modes, robust character roster, and stunning visuals. A limited TEKKEN 6 premium fight stick bundle is also available to provide players with even more pulse-pounding experiences with every bone- jarring punch.
TEKKEN 6 sees the return of many familiar faces and new characters to create the largest line-up in franchise history. Recreate the arcade experience at home by battling friends or AI-controlled opponents while amassing a wealth of items for customizing and strengthening characters in different modes including Versus, Time Attack, and Survival. Featuring dynamic and destructible environments, players will be able to test their virtual might by punching their enemies through concrete walls or kicking them through floors to open a whole new battleground. New to the series, the Scenario Campaign mode will allow players to progress through the story and mow down hordes of enemies while still enjoying fighting game action.
With full support via the PlayStation®Network and Xbox Live® online entertainment network, TEKKEN 6 includes a multitude of online features. Players can vie for global domination or just improve their fighting skills by battling opponents worldwide in online versus mode. Create and upload customized ghost characters, which replicate a player’s fight style, so any competitor from around the world can download them for one-on-one battles. Also an online co-op update for the game’s Scenario Campaign will be available this winter as a free post-launch downloadable content. In this mode, two players can jump into intense campaigns against AI controlled enemies and experience the dramatic large-scale action with friends around the world.

October 27, 2009 at 8:05 pm
@crazy skip. WTF, how would you know, it hasn’t even come out in NZ yet…Soon though, next week in fact.
October 27, 2009 at 8:16 pm
yeah next week in fact… but USMCOgre a member of sdtekken posted on tz thread that even though someone is 5mins away from him.. which im guessing as well that he has a great ISP.. and still lags.. well that sounds like bamco need to do something about it…
im hearing mixed responses from people who already have it.. its good this its good that.. bad this bad that.. but so far the BAD experiences outweigh the good..
October 27, 2009 at 9:31 pm |
There are alot of people saying this game is shit and totally unplayable…kinda worrying me.
October 27, 2009 at 9:35 pm
it worries me because we live in nz… and nearly everything here is overpriced…
so even though i saved my $51 from buying this glorious game…
the comments and experiences im hearing and looking at is just a disgrace to the next-gen fighting games… until then im playing offline… when i here good news or see a patch available to make online a tad bit better playable to be able to punish and do simple string combos then ill be happy…
until then.. download ghost and play arcade for me :)
October 27, 2009 at 4:16 pm |

October 27, 2009 at 7:56 pm |
Gaming Companies always screw us in Australia over…
but on a more important note, i have some mate in Australia who are already playing the game (dont ask me how) and they tried the online with each other and its quote “f***ing awesome” so thats a good thing for us aussies.
also on some forums there mention of input lag during offline mode any comments on that?
October 27, 2009 at 7:57 pm |
I just like to say, thank you MarkMan and SDtekken. You’ve kept me consoled during the long wait.
October 27, 2009 at 7:59 pm |
Tekken 5 DR’s online is better!
October 27, 2009 at 8:38 pm |
Are you Keyikey?
October 27, 2009 at 8:28 pm |
^ayumi come to papa
Input lag should not be too bad. Tekken runs on 60hz, just make sure you have a tv capable of supporting 720p.
October 27, 2009 at 8:35 pm |
The offline ranking restrictions are lame, more people are complaining about the online than praising it, the scenario campaign has a strange targeting system, feels off, and the SC mode feels repetitive and dry… But the actual fighting portion is perfect!! Great visuals, kick-ass customization options, NO input lag offline, I am very pleased with the fighting and balance!!
October 27, 2009 at 8:50 pm |
keep updating if you got anymore to say about the tekken features please..
thanks
October 27, 2009 at 8:54 pm
I wish I could develop my own opinion on the online mode, but unfortunately, I live too far from the city to have high speed internet, so my choices are dial-up and mobile broadband.
October 27, 2009 at 8:59 pm
ahh thats ok.. what about offline features then.. how great is it? is up to standard like what most people say?
October 27, 2009 at 9:49 pm
Played it all day today and really enjoyed it. The gameplay is the best I’ve seen since Tekken 3. It feels so balanced and fun. Costumisation is great also, no complains there. This game would have done so much better if it didn’t add the SC and integrated the stories in it. It brings down the experience for me but I care about the arcade part of it and it’s really good. There was lag for me online, I hope Namco does something to make it better, but when I was on green bars it was good. I’d say better then DRO. Overall if Tekken stuck to it’s older style of making console games, like make the story mode better and just make the arcade part better, it would do a whole lot better. However you should get this game, the gameplay is top notch in this one.
October 27, 2009 at 9:39 pm |
is that GGL tournament still on?
October 27, 2009 at 9:53 pm |
When’s the PSP version coming out? I don’t have a PS3 or a 360…
October 27, 2009 at 10:51 pm |
neither do i…i have a psp. cant afford a ps3 or 360 even tho imma hard core fan, foreshame..
October 27, 2009 at 10:53 pm |
fav characters any 1?? I roll wit Jin. He is da SHIT.
October 28, 2009 at 1:05 am |
Well, SC is tedious, online sucks and they left out some options that should have been in. The core game itself is fantastic though.
October 28, 2009 at 6:15 am |
Still got another 35 hours until release. *sigh*
I’ll have to try and avoid some sites because spoilers for the Scenerio Campaign ending have already made it onto Tekkenpedia. >_<
October 28, 2009 at 9:23 am |
Thank you for this too MarkMan. And just so you guys know it, so will the PSP version be out November 24th in the US, and December 4th in EU. :P
October 28, 2009 at 10:22 am |
We know, lol.
October 28, 2009 at 10:07 am |
The game itself is great, though the online game play is so entirely laggy that it is truly unplayable and not worth your time.
