Hey everyone! MarkMan here. I know it’s been awhile since we’ve updated SDTEKKEN (understatement, lol) but I think it is very important to express that while we’ve gotten busier with our daily lives, one thing hasn’t changed… Our love for TEKKEN and the TEKKEN community! With that, I am greatly pleased to announce that TEKKEN is BACK at EVO 2014! Let’s forget the past and just focus on now and the future. 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of the series and EVO 2014 is definitely something you will not want to miss!
I worked very hard to help make things happen for this community and I wanted to give special thanks to MrWizard and the entire EVO staff for allowing this to happen! Big thanks to Bandai Namco of America and Japan for working closely with the community, especially Katsuhiro Harada, Michael Murray, Jason Arney and Injoon Hwang! Thanks guys!

EQUIPMENT – EVO DOES NOT ALLOW DUAL SHOCK 3 CONTROLLERS! This has been a rule for years now. Please make sure you are either using a Dual Shock 4, wired controller or arcade stick! Don’t forget!
TRAVEL – Depending on where you are in the world, the cost to get to EVO will vary. Whether you are driving, flying, taking a bus, train or boat there are means and ways to make it happen. Most of you will be flying to Las Vegas, so please be aware that airline ticketing prices can change up to a dozen times a day. Check often and if you have any questions, please ask so others can help find you deals.
HOTEL – The official EVO hotel is the LVH – Las Vegas Hotel & Casino (formerly the Hilton). This is a rather old hotel but a lot of the rooms were recently renovated. The reason the rooms are so cheap is because it is not on the strip but just off the side roads (still close to the strip). This hotel is used to hosting huge events (this is the main hotel that hosts CES), so don’t be afraid to book there and have easy access to EVO. – http://evo.shoryuken.com/hotel/
Also, the EVO rate is great but you can get it cheaper if you do some homework/calling the hotel. Prices on off days (Thursday/Friday can range as low as $49 – $59 while the weekend can be $79 or higher)…
PLAN PLAN PLAN! – The fun part about EVO is the competition and the camaraderie. Go to EVO to kick ass, but also have fun. Go with your friends, your team, and the people that make TEKKEN fun for YOU!
Also, as you know TEKKEN at EVO will most likely be on Friday (though not finalized), so please plan to be there in advance!
