EVOWEST 2007: San Diego Player’s Guide

Introduction Info


EVO WEST 2007 will be taking place in Downtown San Diego the weekend of San Diego Comic-Con International! Taking place across the street from the SD convention center at the Omni Hotel, EVO WEST promises to be an action packed event for any fighting game enthusiast!

EVO WEST is part of the EVO2K fighting game series of tournaments and features eight of the best fighting games around! Old school favorites such as Super Street Fighter II TURBO, newer games such as Virtua Fighter 5, and of course… Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection, among others!

If all this fighting game goodness is too much for you to handle, you can shift your gears to ‘geeky’ and experience the largest comic-book & pop culture convention in the world, San Diego Comic-Con International! Comic-Con takes place from Wednesday night, July 25th until Sunday, July 29th. It is FILLED with tons of stuff to satisfy your geekiest urges. Movies, TV, anime, comics, video games, toys, and more! Map Functions

  • Some food is available in the Convention Center itself on the Exhibition Floor, Mezzanine Level, and in the various walkways.
  • Starbucks (and FEDEX Kinkos) are also available on the first floor.
  • Going out and following 1st Street will lead you to a 24HR RALPHS and other close-by restaurants.
  • Continuing on 1st Street will bring you to Westfield Horton Plaza that has several fast food spots on the top floors of the mall.

    As if air travel over the Thanksgiving holiday isn’t tough enough, it could be even worse this year: Airports could see even more disruptions because of a loosely organized Internet boycott of full-body scans.
