The T5DR ONLINE Update is now live for the American version of the game. To download, simply enter the game and a window will pop up asking if you’d like to update. Among the new features are a new “Pickup Match” option, room naming, “Next Turn” alerts, and more.

The first new feature is the “Pickup Match” option. Here, the game will match you with any available opponent waiting for a match without having to wait through a Battle Room. When an opponent is found, a window will pop up displaying their name and stats, as well as their signal strength icon at the top right — handy info for sizing up your opponent before accepting the match.

Also included are the options to turn “Rank Match” On/Off (to Pickup Match without risk to your Battle Points) and “Flag Limit” On/Off (search for players with the same flag only). In the heat of “Pickup Match” battle, an option to rematch your opponent is also available. Rematch will only happen if both players accept to rematch.

For the Battle Room guys, you can now name your Battle Room, of which will display in the Battle Lobby and at the top left of the Battle Room itself next to a new House Icon. The Battle Lobby will also have a new crossed out signal strength icon for those black bar connections. The new Flag Limit On/Off option is also available when creating a room. Unfortunately, the “hoped-for” ability to change room options when a host leaves the room is still not available.

When selecting Voice Chat, a new warning pops up saying that bandwidth increases proportionately to the number of players in the room, and that game play can indeed be affected if a player with insufficient bandwidth joins the room. Sorry to you low bandwidth guys… Expect room kicks, this time with backed up reasoning. :C

New Room Alerts have also been added. When your turn is up next, a faint beep sound can be heard (similar to the beep sound made when searching for a Battle Room). For those with a DUALSHOCK 3, the controller will also vibrate indicating your turn is now up. When a new player joins the room, another beep sound is also made.

When a player enters or exits the room, the message is also updated, now indicating the rank of the player that just entered or left. The previously mentioned beep sound for when a new player enters the room is not heard during match play.

For those following the DR ONLINE update when it first hit the Japanese version of the game, the adjusted +/- 3000~3500 points system is not here. They’re normal point distributions as usual.
Lag versus other players is unfortunately pretty much the same, so make sure to have those good connections. You can follow our DR ONLINE SETUP guide to help you figure things out. Otherwise, continue to see those black bars… or have a continuously rumbling controller during a supercharge while playing with a DUALSHOCK 3.

Cool! Does anybody know if this update is available in Aus or only in NA?
So far, just North America and Asia right now.
Swiite.
Bout time… Hope the other countries get it soon!
Thanks for the heads up. I can’t wait to get home now and play.
Just a heads up.
In T5DR’s options menu, you can NOT turn off vibration/rumble if you have a Dual Shock 3.
The only way to disable it is to access the PS3’s XMB settings and have it disabled.
I hope this update will hit EU soon!
