Highly Revered Franchise Delivers Lightning-Paced Brawls Complete with Intense Gameplay Modes and Exciting New Features

SANTA CLARA, Calif., (Oct. 27, 2009) — Fighting game fans wait no longer as NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., announced today that TEKKEN® 6 is now available at retailers nationwide for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The latest installment of the top-selling video game series is packed with edge-of-your-seat action, new online and offline gameplay modes, robust character roster, and stunning visuals. A limited TEKKEN 6 premium fight stick bundle is also available to provide players with even more pulse-pounding experiences with every bone- jarring punch.

TEKKEN 6 sees the return of many familiar faces and new characters to create the largest line-up in franchise history. Recreate the arcade experience at home by battling friends or AI-controlled opponents while amassing a wealth of items for customizing and strengthening characters in different modes including Versus, Time Attack, and Survival. Featuring dynamic and destructible environments, players will be able to test their virtual might by punching their enemies through concrete walls or kicking them through floors to open a whole new battleground. New to the series, the Scenario Campaign mode will allow players to progress through the story and mow down hordes of enemies while still enjoying fighting game action.

With full support via the PlayStation®Network and Xbox Live® online entertainment network, TEKKEN 6 includes a multitude of online features. Players can vie for global domination or just improve their fighting skills by battling opponents worldwide in online versus mode. Create and upload customized ghost characters, which replicate a player’s fight style, so any competitor from around the world can download them for one-on-one battles. Also an online co-op update for the game’s Scenario Campaign will be available this winter as a free post-launch downloadable content. In this mode, two players can jump into intense campaigns against AI controlled enemies and experience the dramatic large-scale action with friends around the world.

“TEKKEN 6 is the pinnacle of the long running King of Iron Fist Tournament and without question, delivers the best of the entire Tekken series”, said Todd Thorson, director of marketing and public relations at NAMCO BANDAI Games America, Inc. “TEKKEN 6 is the culmination of Namco Bandai Games unwavering commitment to excellence which has resulted into the ultimate fighting experience with amazing detailed graphics and robust online gameplay.”

TEKKEN 6 is rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB and carries a MSRP of $59.99. A premium wireless fight stick bundle will be available for $149.99, while supplies last. For more information on TEKKEN 6, please visit: http://www.tekken.com or http://www.namcobandaigames.com.

      1. i dont knwo where you guys are but the online is fucking perfect. its seemless i havnt had 1 laggy fight ever since this morning and ive been hosting 4 man rooms. this is the best online i have ever seen, no lagg. at all.

      2. I’m Glad You’re Gettin Good Connection BlindGhostFace. I Hope Mine Is The Same When I Get Back Online. What Part Of The US Do You Live?

      3. i live in sweden and have 100/100mbsec fiber connection..and i really hope i will get lag free matches against those in sweden! or even all of EU .ill see when its out 30th oct

      4. @crazy skip. WTF, how would you know, it hasn’t even come out in NZ yet…Soon though, next week in fact.

      5. yeah next week in fact… but USMCOgre a member of sdtekken posted on tz thread that even though someone is 5mins away from him.. which im guessing as well that he has a great ISP.. and still lags.. well that sounds like bamco need to do something about it…

im hearing mixed responses from people who already have it.. its good this its good that.. bad this bad that.. but so far the BAD experiences outweigh the good..

      1. it worries me because we live in nz… and nearly everything here is overpriced…

so even though i saved my $51 from buying this glorious game…

the comments and experiences im hearing and looking at is just a disgrace to the next-gen fighting games… until then im playing offline… when i here good news or see a patch available to make online a tad bit better playable to be able to punish and do simple string combos then ill be happy…

until then.. download ghost and play arcade for me :)

  1. Gratz SDT and thanks! You guys are awesome!
Can’t wait for my copy… Hopefully it’ll be lying in the mailbox tomorrow morning. :)

  2. I think scenario campaign lowered the review scores of tekken esp. ign and gametrailers. :))
still gettin it tho cause tekken is the shit.
will still be checkin sdtekken for t6 psp news. WHEN IT’S really out.

  3. congratulations to every tekken fan outthere who was patient all this time and took their time to wait for tekken 6 congratulations!!!!!!! my copy cums on friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. yakks just you ait buddy, i m doing cenario mode and im getting items for my ravnes, you will soon see the greatnes that is raven.

  4. yeah blind ghost il see u on friday bro, god though i went on tekken zaibastu they right sayin that tekken 6 suks ass and the online lag is worser than dark ressurection is this true?

    1. DUDE. BLINDGHOST HAS SAID MORE THAN ONCE THAT HE’S HAD A PERFECT CONNECTION ONLINE. NO LAG FOR HIM. HE OBVIOUSLY ENJOYS THE GAME ARE .YOU NOT READIN HIS COMMENTS? YOU JUST LIKE TO BLOG.

  5. Gaming Companies always screw us in Australia over…

but on a more important note, i have some mate in Australia who are already playing the game (dont ask me how) and they tried the online with each other and its quote “f***ing awesome” so thats a good thing for us aussies.

also on some forums there mention of input lag during offline mode any comments on that?

  6. ^ayumi come to papa
Input lag should not be too bad. Tekken runs on 60hz, just make sure you have a tv capable of supporting 720p.

  7. The offline ranking restrictions are lame, more people are complaining about the online than praising it, the scenario campaign has a strange targeting system, feels off, and the SC mode feels repetitive and dry… But the actual fighting portion is perfect!! Great visuals, kick-ass customization options, NO input lag offline, I am very pleased with the fighting and balance!!

      1. I wish I could develop my own opinion on the online mode, but unfortunately, I live too far from the city to have high speed internet, so my choices are dial-up and mobile broadband.

      2. ahh thats ok.. what about offline features then.. how great is it? is up to standard like what most people say?

      3. Played it all day today and really enjoyed it. The gameplay is the best I’ve seen since Tekken 3. It feels so balanced and fun. Costumisation is great also, no complains there. This game would have done so much better if it didn’t add the SC and integrated the stories in it. It brings down the experience for me but I care about the arcade part of it and it’s really good. There was lag for me online, I hope Namco does something to make it better, but when I was on green bars it was good. I’d say better then DRO. Overall if Tekken stuck to it’s older style of making console games, like make the story mode better and just make the arcade part better, it would do a whole lot better. However you should get this game, the gameplay is top notch in this one.

  8. Well, SC is tedious, online sucks and they left out some options that should have been in. The core game itself is fantastic though.

  9. Still got another 35 hours until release. *sigh*

I’ll have to try and avoid some sites because spoilers for the Scenerio Campaign ending have already made it onto Tekkenpedia. >_<

  10. Thank you for this too MarkMan. And just so you guys know it, so will the PSP version be out November 24th in the US, and December 4th in EU. :P
