Hori had their brand spanking new Street Fighter IV arcade sticks on display recently during Tokyo Game Show! The sticks should be familiar to most as they are pretty much the same good old Hori sticks we have come to know and love, with an artistic SFIV flair. The PS3 arcade stick is essentially a Hori Real Arcade PRO 3 and the Xbox 360 arcade stick is a Fighting Stick EX2. Check our Arcade Stick section for more information on the new goods!

Pretty much the Hori sticks, are just reskinned with SF IV art… ;/
I was hoping Hori would go all out with a special edition, but it works for them right?!
There hasn’t been a new arcade stick style from Hori since the HRAP was first introduced in 2004 lol.
I’m a Hori fan, so I’ll get one of each… but man. If that’s all they got… I won’t even slap em’ with my gauntlet.

i never been amazing with arcade sticks but im really interested. what would be the pros and cons vs. a PlayStation controller which is ingrained into my being.

Hori is to arcade sticks as EA is to sports games! Are these gonna go as much as the other HRAP3 flavors?
hey mark man i want to know if you are playing with arcade stick are you able to pull out 10 string combo just like regular controler? cuz i have never touched arcade stick myself

10 strings are never a problem for me… But then again, I’m used to using both arcade stick and controller.
And honestly, I wouldn’t use 10 strings, they aren’t too useful. I remember first playing Tekken competitively during Tekken 2 and learning/using 10 strings. It became a crutch/habit I tried to depend on. I became a much better player after giving up that notion and just learning how to play based on zoning/reflex rather than canned/predictable strings.

i know i know about that 10 string combo wont be any use when you are playing competitvely cuz your opponent know when to prray at that low attack in 10 string combo and then turn the table against you i was just curious that if all the moves from comand list can be excecuted thats all.

Personally I have an easier time with stick for most things. Pad for others. It’s really up to preference/which character I’m using.
I like HRAPs but hm.. A new design would be cool like Markman said. .
i was hoping to see a HRAP with the stick a little more to the left. I dunno to me, personally the stick feels too close to the buttons. Look at all that space to the left, if Hori could only move it over an inch that’d be perfect :)
Oh.. and make it smaller too, I remember when DR was still around and people could use their own sticks. Carrying an HRAP around is not fun haha.
I already have a Hori EX2, so I’ll wait for the Mad Catz sticks myself. That’s not just sucking up to you, MarkMan, but I’ve seen the pics of the super-ultra deluxe version, and I’d pay $140 for that… provided that the button layout makes it useful for Ultimate MK3… like this:

Yeah the Mad Catz stick looks sick, since I have an HRAP I’m definitely gonna buy the MadCatz. Man 2009 is gonna rock. SFIV, T6BR. But I wish SFIV and T6BR was coming out for Christmas, that would be sick gift to wake up and find under the tree. SFIV Special Edition + Deluxe MadCatz SFIV stick AND T6BR. Well Christmas will be coming twice for all of us, one this Dec 25 and another Fall early 2009

I don’t know much about arcade sticks but I want to get one, and I don’t know where to start. I been researching them for a few days now and I see that some people are talking about how the Hori for PS2 with a pelican adapter is ur best bet for a PS3, is this true? Do these (this one and the soul calibur IV one) suck in comparison? Also, is using arcade sticks better than using a pad, like will it make u a better player (obviously not right away, after practicing for awhile on it). Thanks, any help is appreciated.

I’m just glad Hori isn’t putting out the same ps3 stick they put out originally and for SC4, that stick is so ass its not even funny. Of course I’m either going to build my own or get the Madcatz SF4 sticks, so I’m probably going to end up passing on these two.

Finally a frigggggen hori stick and a good one for street fighter. I just played street fighter 4 in china town ny. it’s the only place besides cali and japan i believe they have it. i drove 2 hours to see this game in this dungeon arcade. IT WAS THE BEST THING I’VE EVER PLAYED. GOT MY BUTT HANDED TO ME BUT MAN I NEVER PLAYED SAW A GAME LIKE THIS. IT’S WORTHT THE WAIT AND THE STICK IS GONNA MAKE IT THAT MUCH BETTER. 2 PLEASE. ASAP. Will this stick be region free with US PS3s? Ebgames has the madcatz stick, this one is (respectfully) a hori stick.
If so, shouldnt you spend the extra money on importing it?
