Our friends over at SHORYUKEN.COM have been working on a special project, the likes of which we have never experienced before! GGPO is an all new approach to online fighting games. Let’s face it, fighting games online have never been that fun… Until now! After participating in the public alpha release of GGPO we are very pleased with the results! This is a revolutionary step forward for fighting games online, no longer are the competitive gamers hindered by lag or latency issues… For once we can play and showcase our true skills! After tasting great online play for a fighting game, I can only hope that Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection ONLINE plays anywhere close to good as GGPO! With the recent announcement of Tekken 5: DR going online, their fighting game cousin, Soul Calibur is now confirmed for ONLINE play as well! According to 1UP.COM’s latest information, Soul Calibur IV for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 will feature online play as well as other network features! This should be a good indication that Tekken 6 will be online for home consoles as well! Click below for the full report!

It seems that DENGEKI PLAYSTATION magazine printed an error in their most recent issue. Out of all the errors, it had to be that the release date for TEKKEN 5: DARK RESURRECTION ONLINE was incorrect and should have been listed as TBA. This makes millions of Tekken fans around the world unhappy. :(
So now the question is… when will we see Tekken 5: DR ONLINE come out?

According to the latest issue of DENGEKI PLAYSTATION Magazine in Japan, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection ONLINE will be released on June 30th! That’s a little more than a week away! Get ready for the next battle! But wait!? What about US, Europe, and other regions across the world? Who knows… We’ll be sure to update everyone as we get more information! The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has details on Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection with online versus play! With the cost of 2800 Yen(1000 Yen if you already downloaded the old version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection) you will be able to play FREE online versus matches with people all over the world! There will also be an online leaderboard that keeps track of player rankings! Also added will be practice and survival modes! There is no official release date for the upgraded version of T5DR, but be rest assured that SD TEKKEN will keep you posted! For more info and article pictures, click below!

Capcom’s Brian Dunn has just revealed new character images from their upcoming Super Street Fighter II TURBO HD game for Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. Slated to release later this year, the new ST HD will feature new character sprites redone in high definition by UDON artists(the same people who handle the Street Fighter comic books). Tekken’s fighting game cousin, Soul Calibur, has something new up it’s sleeve! Popular gaming publication, Electronic Gaming Monthly, revealed that the next Soul Calibur fighting game will be revealed in their upcoming issue! A new batch of Tekken 6 screen shots have been released! Most of the screens have already been seen in past Arcadia Magazine articles and the latest Tekken 6 Famitsu Magazine feature, but there are a few new shots including new screens that detail the new character’s costumes!
