SOUL: Introducing Odashima-san!

Does your SOUL still burn? Harada-san had one last treat for us for the holidays and here it is! We know at least one man’s soul is burning brightly with a new project. Introducing Daishi Odashima. Odashima-san is currently the game director for the upcoming Soulcalibur project. He began his love with the SOUL series playing the original Soul Calibur and eventually joined the development team for Soul Calibur III. He then went on to design for Soulcalibur IV and Broken Destiny on PSP. With Odashima-san’s new role, let’s all give him our best wishes! TEKKEN IN POP CULTURE: Hasamba 3 G
December 25, 2010Check out this hilarious clip that directly references TEKKEN. Hasamba 3 G is an Israeli TV mini-series that is a sequel to a popular series of pocket books written by Igal Mosinzon dating back as early as the 1950s. The direct references to TEKKEN can be seen here in this torture scene where they specifically name drop Heihachi Mishima and some other TEKKEN related names… Enjoy!

SPECULATION: Julia Chang?

The detectives on the internet are on the prowl with the latest TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT 2 trailer revealing a yet unnamed character dubbed as “?” ! Take a look at the above image. “?” is wearing a very similar amulet that series mainstay Julia Chang wears. Also worth mentioning a lot of Julia’s throws are wrestling based and BOTH characters have feathers on their head! Coincidence? You decide. TTT 2 is slated for a Summer 2011 release in Japanese arcades.

Namco community manager FilthieRich mentioned this on his twitter earlier today:
“Looking and waiting for something special? Make sure to continue following and tell your friends to stay tuned ….”
What could this mean? Updates on the upcoming TEKKEN PROJECT title, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (Spring 2011 for Japanese Arcades) have been scarce since MLG’s Grand Final event in Dallas… Or could we possibly be getting more news on TEKKEN X Street Fighter? Or maybe something with a little more… Soul? Whatever it may be, Namco Bandai definitely (from our inside ninja sources) has something in the works. It’d be wise to follow FilthieRich and Harada-san on twitter for the latest info in the coming weeks!
